My First Full Moon Dinner

I’ve dreamed about hosting a full moon dinner for YEARS. 🌕

Rachel Hollis once talked about a monthly ritual she shares with her closest friends and ever since I heard about it, I knew I wanted to host one of my own. On June 29th, I finally did.

It was the Strawberry Moon 🍓 — a moon associated with nourishment and abundance — and it was absolutely magical.

Because it was me, it was of course a zero-waste gathering. 🌎 Everything was reusable, compostable, or recyclable... and at the end of the night, we had exactly ONE small piece of trash.

We used our own plates, silverware, and cloth napkins. Food scraps were composted. The decor was simple and plastic-free. Proof that gathering beautifully doesn't require a pile of disposable stuff.

The vibe:

✨ 7 incredible women
✨ 90+ degree heat (which called for cute essential oil cooling cloths)
✨ A grounding meditation
✨ A nourishing potluck dinner
✨ Deep, vulnerable conversation
✨ A release ritual under the full moon
✨ Take-home flowers from my bestie's garden

It felt slow, intentional, and deeply nourishing in a way that is increasingly rare these days.

I already can't wait for the next one in a couple of weeks: the Buck Moon 🦌 — associated with growth and becoming.

This time we're adding mini psychic readings 🔮 and a community swap of books, clothes, and plants, which honestly feels very on brand for this little gathering we're creating together.

Hosting a gathering doesn't need to equal wasteful.

It can — and should — be mindful. 🤍

With less waste and lots of love,

Ali
